Nestle Nigeria appoints Mauricio Alarcon new Managing Director

The board of Directors of Nestle Nigeria Plc has announced the appointment of Mauricio Alarcon as the new Managing director of the company.

The company in a notice sent to the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) in Lagos signed by the Company Secretary, Bode Ayeku said, the Managing Director, Mr. Dharnesh Gordhon resigned his appointment as a director and MD of the company with effect from 1st October 2016 due to his transfer to Nestle Indonesia.

Nestle informed the nations bourse that, the board of directors has accepted Gordhon’s resignation.

In the same vein, the board said it has appointed Mr. Mauricio Alarcon as the new Managing Director of Nestle Nigeria Plc with effect from 1st October 2016.

“Mr. Mauricio Alarcon joined Nestle Mexico in 1999, following a number of sales and marketing assignments in the Ice Cream business in Mexico, including Marketing Advisor at the Ice Cream Strategic Business Unit in Switzerland, he was appointed as the Marketing Manager for the Ice Cream in Australia. In 2010, he joined Nestle Egypt as Business Executive Manager, Ice Cream where his dynamism played a key role in transforming the business. Under his leadership, the Ice Cream business turnover in Nestle Egypt more than doubled and the profitability improved in a challenging environment”, the company said.

The company’s further that, Mauricio Alarcon drove a strong turnover of the business in Nestle Cote d’Ivoire from 2014 through his engaging leadership style by driving strong top line growth. In his recently expanded role as the Managing Director of Nestle Atlantic Cluster 9covering Cote d’Ivoire, Senegal, Guinea, Mauritania and Cape Vert), he has effectively led the new Cluster.
