CICAN summit to address diversification of economic, honors Orlean, BoI, others
Commerce and Industry Correspondents Association of Nigeria (CICAN) has said its forthcoming annual summit will center on the diversification of the Nigeria economy through the industrial sector.
The summit, which is the sixth edition which will honour some individuals, companies and organization, is expected to discuss roles and impact of both the private and public sector on diversification.
The statement made available by the Association signed by the Award Committee Chairman Johnmark Ukoko and the Committee Secretary, Barnabas Esiet said, this year theme of “Diversifying the Nigerian Economy through the Industrial Sector”, was necessitated by the rising need for the government diversify the economy.
The summit is expected to take place on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at the LCCI Exhibition Centre, Marwa Garden, Lagos, from 2pm.
The statement disclosed that the Lagos state Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode and the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investments Dr. Okechukwu Enelamah are being expected as the Special Guests of Honour at the event, while the President of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) is to chair the occasion.
However, four eminent Nigerians namely Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa, the Acting MD of Bank of Industry (BOI), Waheed Olagunju, the Director General of Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Muda Yusuf and the Chairman Cosmetics &Toiletries group of Manufacturer Association of Nigeri, Ikpong Umoh are to deliver papers on various subjects with regard to revamping the country’ s economy through diversification.
Industrial giants such as; NatnuDo Limited and Orlean Invest Africa, Bank of Industry (BoI), as well as parliamentarians are among the few distinguished institutions and individuals to be honoured this year with excellence award .
Other awardees include; Al-Hikmah University, Honourable Odeneye of the House of Representatives, Hon Olulade Oluomo of the Lagos House of Assembly and Lonadek Limited among others.
