Dangote is an uncommon promoter of economic development-KACCIMA

The pan-African Conglomerate, the Dangote Group has launched out in grand style at the on-going Kano International Trade fair where Kano Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, (KACCIMA) single out the company as best active promoter and sustainer economic interest of the country

President of KACCIMA, Alhaji Umar Farouk Rabiu Dansuleka, at a press briefing shortly after formal opening of the Fair, commended Dangote Group for outstanding performance during the fair in Kano over the years.

This year four countries within Europe and Asia indicated interest to participate with more than 15 countries from the West African sub-region, the KACCIMA boss disclosed.

He pointed out that Dangote Company had been a worthy partner of KACCIMA, and recalled exceptional performance of the Group during 2013 Kano International Trade Fair when the company sold more than one thousand trucks of cement.

He noted that same feat could be repeated this year as Dangote already secured over 50 new dealers for its products just on the day of the opening of the current fair.

“KACCIMA is expecting a lot of products from Dangote at this fair and we have discussed with the management to sell its product at a lower rate”.

He commended Dangote and other official partners, namely, Nigeria Deposit Insurànce Corporation (NDIC), Nigeria Ports Authority (NPA), Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), BUA Group and Cool FM for their effort in helping KACCIMA promote businesses at home and abroad.

“The connectivity between the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, and the multinationals has helped in promoting community businesses as well as the Kano Trade Fair.

Alhaji Dansuleka said the country must follow the basic economic growth process of improving quality of lives of the people even in the midst of recession just as ait is imperative to also develop and improve education, expanding scientific thoughts and reviving trade, commerce and industries in the country.

He commended President Mohammed Buhari and the Governor of Kano state, Umar Ganduje for their support to the Chamber, business community and in enhancing security in the state and country at large.

Earlier, Minister of Trade and Investment, Mr. Okechukwu Enelamah declared Kano International Trade Fair open on behalf of President Mohammadu Buhari noting that considerations placed Kano state in a good stead for the fair.

Enelamah said active participation of private sector is key to diversification of the economy and enjoined the private sector to give necessary support to SMEs by unleashing unprecedented level of job creation and empowerment for economic growth and development.

He said 37th edition of the Kano International Trade Fair is designed to focus on attracting and providing common platform for the promotion of entreprenurship and investment in Kano.
