Senator Andy Uba at the plenary read the report of the committee on Public Account on the Screening of Mr. Anthony Ayine for appointment as Auditor General of the Federation.
Senator Binta Garba speaks against the nomination saying Mr. Ayine is an Auditor General for a Local Government in Cross Rivers on Level 14 and ought to be on Level 17.

Senate Leader Ahmed Lawan says the petitions brought against Mr. Ayine holds no water and that “fresh ideas are needed from an outsider”.
President Muhammadu Buhari had last year nominated Mr. Ayine to fill the post currently held by Florence Anyanwu in acting capacity.
