Dangote Cement, Nestle, NB shares boost equity trading by N100bn

THE gain of N100.806 billion recorded by three highly capitalized stocks strengthen the transaction on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) on Thursday.
Thanks to big cap stocks in industrial and consumer goods sector as gain experienced by the equities market today was triggered by positive price change in Dangote Cement Plc, Nestle Nigeria Plc and Nigerian Breweries Plc.
At the end of today’s trading Dangote Cement Plc added N85.032 billion to its market capitalization while Nestle Nigeria Plc and Nigerian Breweries Plc appreciated by N11.889 billion and N3.885 billion respectively.
The equities market extends previous gain to add 0.55 percent at the close of Thursday’s trading session.
However, the year till date was brought to 32.69 percent, while market capitalization also closed at N12.294 trillion. The Market breadth ratio stood at 0.73 with 16 gainers against 21 losers.
Market activities turned upward as both volume and value inclined. The market experienced 7.02 percent incline in terms of volume to close at 128 million from 119 million traded from previous session. Value also closed at 2.73 billion from 1.74 billion traded from previous session representing 56.34 percent upturn.
Zenith Bank Plc, Guaranty Trust Bank Plc, Skye Bank Plc, FBN Holdings Plc and Jaiz Bank Plc topped the activities chart in terms of volume while Guaranty Trust Bank Plc, Nestle Nigeria Plc, Zenith Bank Plc, Stanbic IBTC Holdings Plc and International Breweries Plc topped the value’s chart to contribute majorly to today’s market worth.
The NSEASI with all other sector indices swayed further into green zone save for the NSE Oil & Gas as pressure mounts on Oil & Gas sector and the NSE Banking Indices.
Meanwhile, Nestle Nigeria Plc topped the gainers chart with N15.00 kobo to close at N1,205,00 kobo, followed by Dangote Cement Plc with N4.99 kobo to close at N213.99 kobo per share, and Okomu Oil Plc with a gain of N3.61 kobo to close at N66.50 kobo per share.
On the other hand, Total Nigeria Plc share price decline by N2.90 kobo per share to close at N232.10 kobo, followed by Unilever Nigeria Plc with N2.20 kobo to close at N41.80 kobo, and Conoil Plc with a loss of N1.45 kobo to close at N66.50 kobo per share.
