MPC leaves key rates unchanged

 

THE Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) at the end of its two-day policy meeting held in Abuja decided to leave key monetary policy rates unchanged.
Speaking at the post MPC briefing, Governor of CBN, Mr. Godwin Emefiele stated that nine out of ten members of the MPC in attendance voted to leave key monetary policy rates unchanged.
According to him, the committee decided to retained Monetary Policy Rate (MPR) at 14.0 percent, maintained the asymmetric corridor around the MPR at +200/-500bpbs, holds Cash Reserves Ratio (CRR) at 22.5 percent and keeps liquidity ratio at 30.0 percent.
