Emefiele, Udoma, Adeosun brief Buhari on economy

AFTER spending no fewer than 100 days away from office, President Muhammadu Buhari needed a first-hand account of what is happening with the economy.
And the people he entrusted the economy with were on hand on Monday to answer his questions and explain what they have been doing to bring Africa’s largest economy back on track.
On Monday, the president spent almost two hours listening to the men and woman that run the economy – the Minister of Budget and National Planning, Senator Udoma Udo Udoma, the Minister of Finance, Mrs Kemi Adeosun, and Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr Godwin Emefiele.
The Ministers and CBN Governor was said to have updated the President on the state of the economy, implementation of the 2017 Budget, preparation for the 2018 Budget, revenue strategies, combined cost reduction and debt management.
President Buhari was said to have patted them on the backs for jobs well done.
But he also reminded them that reviving the economy was one of the major planks on which the campaign of his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), was based and expressed gladness that things were looking up after two years.
President Buhari also declared that he was pleased with the progress being made on different fronts.
