Equities sustain positive momentum

The NSE All-Share Index maintained an upward trajectory in today’s session as the benchmark index advanced by 0.18% to close at 39,382.96 points. Sustained demand for tickers in the industrial and banking space buoyed market​ momentum. For specifics, cement giant DANGCEM garnered 1.61% while ZENITHBANK and UBA edged higher by 1.09% and 0.69% respectively. On the agricultural​ counter, PRESCO rebounded by 9.58% to close at ₦78.90. Meanwhile, selloffs on STANBIC (-1.96%), FBNH (-1.39%) and GUARANTY (-1.50%) pinned the lender’s ticker to the red. Summarily, YTD returns eased to -2.20% while​ market​ capitalization inched up by ₦36​ billion to close at ₦20.53​ trillion.

Today, market activities closed on a mixed note with volume of trades declining by 8.51% while value of trades advanced by 2.47%. A total of 296 million units of shares —​ valued at ₦3.36 billion were traded in 4,265 deals. ACCESS (+0.60%) led the volume chart with 58 million units of shares traded while ZENITHBANK (+1.09%) topped the value chart with deals worth over ₦609​ million.

Market breadth closed positive at 1.23-to-1 ratio​ with advancing​ issues outnumbering declining ones. MEYER (+9.62%) topped twenty (20) others on​ the gainer’s log​ while REGALINS (-8.82%) led sixteen (16)​ others on the laggard’s​ table.
